OUR CHARITY WORK

HOME-START UK IS OUR MAIN CHARITY PARTNER

Home-Start helps 31,000 families (and 53,000 kids) dealing with issues like postnatal depression, physical health problems, isolation, bereavement and other challenging situations. We are proud to have supported projects like Home-Start’s Covid Emergency Relief Fund and to have funded a new perinatal support manager for the charity.

We’ve also donated £100,000 to Home-Start's Empowering Women project, which funds local initiatives to help the mums they support grow, thrive and feel equipped to determine their own future. These include a refugee support group in mid-Sussex, a group for mums under 25 in Leeds, a STEPS (Steps to Excellence in Personal Success) course for marginalised women in the Glasgow area, and a therapeutic forest school for mums with health struggles in Erewash.

And this winter we donated £50,000 to the Warm Spaces, Friendly Faces project. This went to provide community-based activities in cosy, heated spaces. So families could access practical and emotional support, meet other families, join playgroups and save on their fuel usage.

WE HAVE ALSO HELPED IN SMALLER WAYS

We have supplied computers to Home-Start families to assist with home schooling during lockdown. And for the last two years we have given many thousands of Christmas gifts to families the charity supports.

We donate extra samples and fabrics to Newlife, the charity for disabled children. This last year we donated over 1,500 bags of clothes that were then sold by the charity’s shops, helping them to support thousands of disabled and terminally ill children and their families.

Our donations helped fund over 10,000 helpline calls, hundreds of emergency equipment loans, over a thousand grants for specialist equipment and 1,380 play therapy pods. And they supported kids like ten-year old Una. Diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy, Una needed a bed that was safe and could be easily moved around.

AND WE’RE ALWAYS STRIVING TO DO MORE

We raise money through staff sample sales, and each member of White Stuff has two community days a year to do things like help at the Vauxhall City Farm, right on our HQ doorstep.

We're proud of what we are able to give, and we'd love for you to help out too. For anything that you buy from our Home-Start charity gift range, we promise 100% of the profits will go to Home-Start UK and the families they work with.
